I just finished my website for my art and if i do say so myself it looks good. I'm still working out the kinks and adding useful pages but i like it so far. I would love to get feedback on it on how to improve it or change something. I used a free site hosting service at http://tripod.lycos.com and they give you your own URL you can add to directories like google. I DID!! new begginings

This year i'm turning over a new leaf in a sense, I'm planning on blogging more and drawing and painting more. The pictures i have done since my last post i think are improved and quite different than some of my other styles but still me. I"m trying to find a way to sell my paintings and share them with the world like i have wanted to for a while. My goal is for all the drawings and paintings i have done and will continue to do to go to people who enjoy art and all of it's glory, interpritations, expression, and emotion. I will find a way!!

This is my newest painting. Called "circus performer." my inspiration came from a cooking show ironically. They were doing cakes based on a cirque de solei show. Then i interpreted it for myself.

This is one of my projects. I found a pair of gloves and decided to paint them. The barb wire one is to go with a glove i already had but didnt have a match to. So i made one!

I realize so many people have blogs for networking or gossip but i have a few hints that i found out. One thing is you should stick to what your using your blog for. Don't go on about your day and what you had for breakfast if your using your blog for say art. It just detracts from the purpose. Another point is show samples of your work a few though you don't need to have everything you've done up there. That way your not just describing it but people can look at it and see the talent you're trying to show. The most important thing is to actually post blogs not just every once in a while but at least once a week. For me not only do i have a personal blog exclusively for my art but i also have other networking sites like myspace and facebook. Recently on myspace a guy looked at my art pictures i had posted and loved one of them he asked what a specific piece was called and asked if he could buy it from me. So I'm super stoked to see what happens with my networking and the art i do.

This one is called "Blocked Windmill" It's one of my favorites. The blocks make it complex and the colors pop. I got the idea from my daily crossword puzzle.

This one is "When Television Attacks" I just thought that eventually watching too much TV would result in well them attacking because they were used so much!

This is called "Webs with dew" Ironically I'm scared of spiders but their webs are so beautiful. When i saw one outside with morning dew on it i knew i wanted to draw it and since i like color it has multiple colors.

modern food art

One thing I'm known for is making a mess. A great example of this is a few weeks ago my mom and i were shopping at the grocery store. when we were checking ourselves out. i picked up the box of spaghetti what i didn't know was one side of the box was half opened. As i piked it up all the pasta came out, and when i say all of it i mean all of it! To me it wasn't just a mess it was a beautiful one at that. Everywhere beneath our cart and feet was a sea of spaghetti. If that wasn't funny enough the guy working there looked at me and laughed i mean how could you not?! As he laughed my mom said clean up register 6. now when you hear that naturally people look to see what happened. i know most everyone would have been really embarrassed but to me it was the funniest thing, and i had something to do with it! Now when we buy spaghetti I'm more careful so it doesn't happen again but I'll always have the funny story of my food art disaster!

A hint

Perspective is difficult to master i would know it's not my forte. While going through a few art books a I found a tip that makes it a little easier. If you start with laying out where you want the depth to be in your picture it becomes easier to then draw the rest of your picture. Another is if you do a small sketch of your whole idea it allows you to change the look before it's too late to change on the canvas!

Criticism need not apply

Okay i know i''m not the absolute best artist in the world, but who really can be. What makes someone the best?! I don't think there is a best or worst ANYTHING! It's how you perceive your art and yourself. I may be slightly different than most because I'm the opposite. i handle rejection pretty well, but the thing that bothers me more is criticism, i seem to take it personally and feel like they are saying what i drew is bad. Which actually isn't the case at all. The other day i was asked what the meaning was to one of my pictures or is it just for the sake of having shapes. Well here's the thing I LOVE SHAPES and most of my pictures have alot of them, but sometimes i just feel like drawing a bunch of shapes and making it very colorful. Not all of my art has a purpose, like to change someones view on something, it just makes me happy. That's one of the things i like about drawing if it makes you happy why not draw it.. I understand that people like the depth and meaning to it, but if it makes me happy as an artist, i don't really want someone telling me that it NEEDS a certain emotional side. In order to be able to explain my drawings though I've delved deeper into myself and my art to describe the connection between it and me.

A little inspiration

I get my ideas from more unusual places. One drawing i did came from the pattern on the tile in a bathroom, another from a crossword puzzle.I'd say all the pictures are unique in their own right. Block work or cubism is i found technical and complicated to plan out, mostly because once you get the idea on paper it ends up transforming itself while your painting it. Recently i was going through a local Denver art guide and came across a few interesting sections that i found helpful in my "quest" to becoming a known artist. One of the sections described art styles. Finally i figured out what my style is called, which is a mixture of abstract and modernism. I wonder if i can call it "modern-abstract-ism?!" Another section i liked was an "art locator index" it listed numerous galleries all over Colorado, with a description of what they look for and like to display. I've found a few that sound like my style of art and have started looking at their websites to see if and how an unknown emerging artist can get their stuff displayed for the public to see!!! It's exciting and hard!!

Well I'm an artist to say the least. I have an eye for what can draw the eye to a certain part of a picture. I have a few favorite styles that i use, i like to use bright geometric patterns, and dark Gothic style. Both draw my attention for different reasons the brightness is almost mesmerizing in a way where you can look at it for hours and still be in awe by it. Dark Gothic has such emotion in it that it makes you think about it for days at a time. I have done some pencil drawings of animals which i like to draw because they have a unique look and texture. I've been working on the perspective in paintings themselves. Which is harder than i thought but i found a certain key that makes it easier for me. I keep working at it so its improving...
